About
Pride Ceremonies®
Pride Ceremonies® celebrates life
transitions and milestones for individuals, couples
and families of diverse sexualities in Brisbane,
Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Redcliffe, Pine Rivers,
and surrounding areas. And has been doing so since
2004 (initially under the banner GL-Unions),
rebranded in 2009.
About Jenny, Your Celebrant
I love my job. As one of the few
full-time professional, gay-positive/gay-friendly
celebrants in the Brisbane area I have no competing
obligations, so being a celebrant is not a
side-hustle for me. This means I am available 24/7
and your ceremony really is my top priority. As a
secular humanist, I value all people and and their
relationships. As a progressive celebrant, I am
totally committed to ensuring that the ceremonies I
create are respectful, celebratory, and fun.
And, as you can see, I love rainbow colours!
And as an
Authorised
Marriage Celebrant, proud mother of a
gay child, and member of AME and PFLAG, with a long
history of advocating for
marriage equality
in Australia, I am thrilled to be able to legally
marry all couples. Every. Single. Time.
As an accredited Naming
Celebrant and General Celebrant I
also offer ceremonies to acknowledge or
celebrate other events
- the loving commitment of
partners who are not legally marrying
- the naming and welcoming
of a child into the family
- renewal of marriage vows
for couples celebrating staying married
- a divorce or end of a
relationship
- reaching puberty or
maturity (wise-woman ceremonies also known as
croning)
- launching of businesses
or other ventures
- house-warming
- other ceremonies
As a Secular Humanist
Celebrant I strongly affirm the dignity of
each human being, support the maximisation of
individual liberty and opportunity consonant with
both social and environmental responsibility, and
endorse democracy, education, equality, justice,
tolerance, reason and environmental
responsibility. I am non-judgmental. I welcome
all couples with open arms, and therefore I provide
ceremonies for everyone regardless of culture, age,
gender, religion, sexual orientation, or the time of
day or type of setting in which the ceremony is
being held (with a few exceptions relating to
legality or safety). I focus on delivering
meaningful non-religious ceremonies. But you can
also be confident that I will respect your belief
system, whatever it is, and if you wish, include
expressions of your spirituality in your ceremony.
All of the above means that I offer
you the security of knowing that
- your ceremony is in safe and sympathetic hands
with me
- your ceremony will be created and conducted by
a celebrant with a personal commitment and
extensive experience in delivering
ceremonies for same sex couples and families
- your ceremony will be different because it
will be about you and you alone
- your ceremony will be a heartfelt celebration
of your relationship
- your ceremony will be inclusive of your family
and friends
